Exhibiting influences from the likes of Jim White, Calexico or Nick Drake, Point Quiet crafts its very own style of ‘Americana Noir’, bordering at times in the new folk and Alt.Country directions. Formerly better known as Whites Sands, what was initially a solo project from singer/songwriter Pascal Hallibert (Grote Prijs van Nederland 2001 finalist and alt-rock combo Templo Diez frontman) quickly moved to a duo format with multi-instrumentist Hans Custers, reaching the Grote Prijs van Nederland finals in late 2004. After playing Crossing Border 2005 and several dates in Canada and the USA, they release their debut EP ‘Alma’ in 2006, garnering very positive reactions from the Dutch music media.

Elske DeWall started playing piano when she was 7 years old, switched to saxophone and ended up playing guitar. She scored a record deal at Universal Music with her first demo. She then released her first album, entitled Balloon Over Paris. The album is recorded in the Kaleidoscope Sound studio in New Jersey with producer Randy Crafton (a.o. Room Eleven and Dayna Kurtz).

After two critically acclaimed records, Luis Francesco Arena comes back to us with a third album.  This time, Luis’ has enriched his musical world with drums, piano and various experimentations such as sampling and human beat box, which all add to the songwriter’s vocabulary while extending his musical terrain (Red Handed). When listening to his melodies, one thinks of Nick Drake, Ken Stringellow and even the Beatles (Black Lemonade).  His lyrics are subtle and poetical, leading to a rich universe, peopled by strange animals, childhood memories and the ups and downs of Luis’ world.
